Nora Wölfing

Nora Wölfing is a Berlin-based art historian and sinologist. She works as researcher, curator and writer with a specialization on contemporary art from the Sinophone Region. She is pursuing her doctoral studies at Freie Universität Berlin and is affiliated researcher at the DFG funded research group East Asian Futures at Ruhr University Bochum. Her research is based on critical feminism and backed by transcultural studies. Her research focus lies on concepts of temporality and futurity, narrative structures in art works and immersive exhibition settings. She is a lecturer at TU Berlin (2023/24; 2024/25; 2026). Since 2022 she is a member of the Research Network for Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art. Nora Wölfing regulary speaks about her research in international conferences including Harvard University, TU Dresden, Ruhr University Dresden, Olmouc University and more.

Her articles are published in Yishu Journal for Contemporary Chinese Art, ArtAsiaPacific, CURA Magazine, gallerytalk.net, artline, Goethe Institute China’s Yi Magazine (today called: Freiraum). Nora has worked on catalogs published at Distanz Berlin and Spector Books Leipzig. Nora is regularly invited as moderator or speaker by art institutions such as HAU Berlin, Galerie im Körnerpark, and more.
